Appeals
Sanctioned members contest a sanction from its DM or from the website. Each appeal is a card with a thread; accepting lifts the sanction.
Do this on my dashboardPremium
A member who thinks a sanction was a mistake can contest it. The appeal reaches your staff as a card in your appeals channel, with the case, the member's own words and their record, and a thread to talk it over.
How members appeal
From the sanction DM. When a sanction can be contested, the DM the member gets carries two buttons:
- Contest opens a short form: why should it be lifted?
- Check my appeal shows where it stands, the staff's question if they asked one, and the decision.
Each button names its server and its case, so a member sanctioned on several servers is never mixed up. Check my appeal answers the click itself: it keeps working after a ban, when the bot shares no server with the member any more and cannot DM them.
From the website. Members whose DMs were closed, or who lost the DM, use your server's appeal link: supreo.xyz/appeal/your-server-id (copy it from Moderation → Appeals). They sign in with Discord and see their sanctions on your server, which they can contest, and their appeals. Put the link in your rules or in your ban reasons. Every member also finds their appeals under My appeals on the dashboard.
Set it up
- Create a channel only your staff can read, such as
#appeals. It can be the reports channel. - In Moderation → Appeals, turn on Let members contest sanctions and pick the channel.
- Choose which sanctions can be contested (timeouts, bans and temporary bans by default).
The bot needs Create Public Threads and Send Messages in Threads in that channel.
Deciding
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Accept | Lifts the sanction on Discord now (unban, or timeout removed), marks the case revoked, and tells the member. |
| Reject | The sanction stays; the member is told. |
| Ask a question | The member sees it and answers from the DM's Check my appeal or on the website. Their answer lands in the thread. |
Each opens a short form: a note for the member (optional), or the question. That form is also your confirmation before a ban is lifted. Accepting needs the permission to lift that sanction (Ban Members for a ban). The dashboard lists every appeal with the same three actions.
When the bot can still reach the member, they get the decision by DM. Otherwise they see it with Check my appeal or on the website.
Limits
- One appeal per case.
- Can be contested after: right away, or after 1 hour, 1, 3, 7 or 30 days.
- Stop after rejected appeals: after 1, 2 (default), 3 or 5 rejected appeals on your server, a member cannot file another. Or no limit.
Free plan
Without Premium, the sanction DM has no Contest button and the appeal link says the server does not take appeals. Sanctions and reports work on the free plan.
Reports
Members flag a message or a member to your staff. Each report is a card in your reports channel, kept up to date, with a thread for the staff to talk it over.
Anti-spam and escalation
Rules over what members write — floods, repeats, the same message in several channels, mass mentions, invites, links — and warnings that add up to the next sanction.
